Class 6 have been learning about D Day . They have watched videos, listened to the accounts of veterans from the time and imagined what it must have been like. Today they are writing up letters to a loved one about the events. What beautiful presentation skills they are showing!
In PE, Class 6 have been developing their agility using speed, strength, a good balance and co-ordination.
Class 6 children learnt about an official war artist - L S Lowry. They will be taking inspiration from his art to create our own compositions.
Year 6 learnt new skills using a hack saw and bench hook to create their frame structures.
Year 6's Design Technology project this half term is to build an Anderson shelter. They have started exploring what makes a structure stable and gives it strength.
Year 6's PE topic is fitness. They have been learning how to stretch effectively to warm up their muscles. They took part in a circuit training to try to improve their stamina.
Year 6 have been learning how to mix and blend acrylic paints. We used a wet on wet technique for blending which gave a fabulous effect.
Year 6 planned and carried out an investigation to try to answer the question of how finches led Charles Darwin to his ideas of ‘survival of the fittest.’
