British Values
From September 2014, the Department for Education introduced a statutory duty for schools to promote British Values more actively and to ensure that they are taught in schools.
At Kimberworth Community Primary School we are committed to serving our community and preparing our pupils to be fully rounded members of society who treat others with repect and tolerance.
The government set out its definition of British Values in the 2011 Prevent Strategy. The 5 key British Values are:
- Democracy
- The Rule of Law
- Individual Liberty
- Mutual Respect
- Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs
The examples given in the document show some of the many ways Kimberworth Community Primary School seeks to instil British Values.
